Up

This is the third and most successful blanket chest I've built. It's red elm with a pine bottom. The raised panel sides are nice and the lid is based on typical medieval chests intended to be pushed up against a wall. With the offset hinges, that's possible. I made two - one for a sister as a wedding present. The finish is linseed oil covered with shellac. I even used hide glue for all the joints.
the frame for one end first time with ends and a side all together! the Maker with the present
Tada! front and side lid works great against a wall
