Album: Photos:MorrisChair

I wanted a Stickly Morris chair, but couldn't find one I liked or could afford, so I built one. It's based on plans by Gene Lehnert in Fine Woodworking #101. It's all quartered white oak (natch). Finish is raw linseed oil. I sewed the cushion covers myself. This is an excellent project for learning mortise & tenon joinery. Since I didn't have a planer at the time, I hand-planed all the rough lumber to size. With practice, that goes faster than you may think.
